Nicholas Boechler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, San Diego. He received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and his Ph.D. in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology. He worked as a Postdoctoral Associate with Prof. Nicholas Fang in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from Autumn 2011 to Spring 2013. He joined the UCSD faculty in September of 2017. Prof. Boechler received the Army Research Office Young Investigator Program award in 2015, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research Young Investigator Program award in 2016, and the International Congress on Ultrasonics (ICU) Early Career Award in 2017.
Brianna received her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from UC San Diego in 2016. She worked as a systems engineer at Northrop Grumman for two years, and is now pursuing her Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering in Nicholas Boechler’s group at UC San Diego.
Jihad received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 2017. He worked as a Lecturer for two years in KFUPM, and is now pursuing his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering in Nicholas Boechler’s group at UC San Diego.
Ian received his B.S in mechanical engineering and minor in computational and applied math from Rice University in 2019. He is now pursuing his Ph.D focusing on topological acoustics in Nicholas Boechler’s group at UCSD. Ian received an NDSEG fellowship in 2020, 1st Place in Rice Engineering Showcase 2019, and CAAM Chevron Prize in 2018.
Ryan received his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the USAF Academy in 2006, and his MBA from Oklahoma State University in 2014. He’s a former Fighter Pilot, Experimental Test Pilot, and current Air Force Officer. He’s currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UCSD in the Boechler Research Group.
Wade received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at California State University, Long Beach. He’s currently pursuing his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at UCSD, in both Dr. Andrea Tao and Nicholas Boechler’s research groups.
Nicolas received his B.S in Materials Science and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 2020. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering focusing on topological acoustics in Nicholas Boechler’s group at UCSD.
